Practical information on pollution prevention measures

Welcome to GreenProfit - the freely accessible on-line database of pollution prevention measures and examples of their applications. The Dutch language version "Milieu & Winst", featuring hundreds of measures for a range of industrial and other sectors, has been a tremendous success in getting the cleaner production message across to environmental coordinators in industry, licensing officials, etc. GreenProfit is an initiative of BECO Environmental Management in the Netherlands and is supported by many organizations in the Netherlands and Belgium.

What makes GreenProfit unique?

Generally, pollution prevention information on the web comes in the form of case studies in specific companies. On Greenprofit, most information is presented as cleaner production measures, based on sector studies. Some unique aspects include:

  • It is free: The GreenProfit system is available free of charge and without the need to register.
  • It has practical information: The measures can be readily implemented in industry and other sectors.
  • The information is uniform: All pollution prevention measures include a description of the cleaner production challenge, the solution provided, the environmental and resource efficiency benefits, investments and pay back times as well as sources of further information.
